Margaret Hass grew up between Lafayette and West Lafayette, graduating from Jefferson High School and then Amherst College. After college, she studied and worked in Germany, India, and Italy before coming back to Greater Lafayette for good in 2016. Soon after returning, she became involved in the League of Women Voters of Greater Lafayette and Greater Lafayette Immigrant Allies, taking on leadership roles in both organizations. She continues to advocate for voter access and education, as well as the rights of immigrants in our community. Professionally, she is an educator and interculturalist, specialized in teaching English language and US culture.
