West Lafayette Common Council, District 4

Larry J. Leverenz

Jennifer Teising

When I ran 4 years ago, West Lafayette was just beginning the State Street project and the US 231 Corridor was just completed. Then, the issues were controlled growth in conjunction with the State Street redevelopment, a plan for the US 231 Corridor development, Happy Hollow restructuring, and the decisions surrounding a new City Hall. I’m pleased to say that all those projects and more are either completed or well underway. State Street provides us with a vibrant entrance into the city and the Purdue University, a zoning plan is complete for the US 231 Corridor that will allow for growth of both business and residential areas, Happy Hollow Road is complete and a new reworking of Happy Hollow Park is near completion, and Morton School is being renovated to become the new West Lafayette City Hall. In addition, work has started on a new community recreation center that will bring health and wellness opportunities to our citizens. All this work has been done while maintaining the quality of services provided by the City and the quality of life for West Lafayette residents that we all enjoy.

My goal is to continue to help West Lafayette develop into a model city for Indiana and the nation. The growth is not over. These are important times that call for thoughtful and wise decisions based on experience and leadership. My budgetary knowledge and leadership experience gives me the skills necessary to face the new challenges and opportunities. I want to continue to provide that thoughtful and productive leadership that has long defined our neighborhood and community.
